Language is a medium for conveying or communicating thoughts, ideas, or feelings to another person. Many languages are being used in the Philippines, and each region has a different language and dialect that is being used by each culture.  In the Philippines, Filipino is considered to be the national language of the Philippines because it is widely used by many Filipinos which makes it easier to communicate with others and understand. Language undergoes evolution as time passes. Many Filipino words are rarely used nowadays because it is sometimes changed to other words but still have the same meaning; for example, The word Eroplano means Airplane in English, but eroplano is a borrowed english word of airplane. The original word for eroplano is salipawpaw.

1. Batalan (Bathroom/ Restroom)

          - A room that is used for bathing or using the toilet; usually has a shower, toilet, and sink. 

Example: Ang sabon panlaba ay nasa itaas ng lababo ng batalan.

2. Awanggan (Endless/Infinity)

        - a period that has no end or limit. 

Example: Ang buhay ay hindi awanggan, sapagkat ang mundo ay isang paglalakbay lamang at hindi permanente.

3. Salipawpaw (Airplane)

        - A machine that is powered by engines and has wings that fly through the air. It is usually used for transporting people, or goods from different locations.

Example: Habang lumalakad ako papuntang eskwelahan, napatingala ako nang may dumaan na salipawpaw sa himpapawid.

4. Magsimpan (Nurse)

        - A person who assists sick or injured people and usually works in a hospital or clinic.

Example: Balang araw makamit ko rin ang aking pangarap na maging magsimpan.

5. Kabtol  (Switch)

        - to make a change from something to another.

Example: Pinagkabtol niya ang kaniyang mga sapatos para bumagay sa kaniyang suot.

6. Sambat (Fork)

        - A utensil that has two or more pointed parts (called prongs or tines) that are used to pick up and eat food. Usually accompanied by spoons and forks

Example: Parati gumagamit ng kutsara at sambat si Gina kahit sa pag kain ng pastil.

7. Pantablay (Charger)

        - A device for charging devices.

 Example: Kinuha ni ate ang aking pantablay, kaya wala akong magamit ngayon.

8. Pook-Sapot (Website)

        - A place on the world wide web that contains information about a person, organization, etc. Usually consists of many web pages joined by hyperlinks.

 Example: Sinisigurado ko na gumagamit ako ng mapagkatiwalaan na pook-sapot kapag ako ay humahanap ng sagot para sa aking takdang aralin.

9. Tsubibo (Carousel)

        - a large round platform that turns around in a circle and has seats and figures of animals (such as horses) on which children sit for a ride. 

Example: Nung bata pa ako parati akong sumasakay ng tsubibo kapag pumupunta kami ng aking  pamilya sa perya.

10. Datung (Money)

        - something (coins or bills) used as a way to pay for goods, and services, and pay people for their work.

Example: Binigyan ako ng datung ng aking ina para may maipang bayad sa aking tuition fee.
